Reflection Document Shem Dela Cruz Baua

What have your learnt from working in a team? What worked and what didn't? What would you do the same and what would you do differently?

I believe as a group collective we have learnt many things about ourselves, the process and how it is to produce one product as a group. I believe that as a team we worked quite well, not only in terms of communicating with each other and making sure that everyone was aware of what was happening, so that we all progressed throughout the process as a group, rather than individuals working at different stages/paces of the assignment. We also worked quite well in ensuring that everyone got tasks that would help our idea go forward e.g. with initial testing of the candleholders, we all undertook different materials to test what would work and what wouldn’t. We then continued this into our final products where we all produced different materials.

In terms of the stall this was also something that I believe wee achieved quite well in putting together as a collective. We all managed different tasks for the concept and build of the stall and I believe that this all came together as a collective when the stall was put together. The only downside of working in a team I found from such a broad 2nd year cohort would be everyone’s schedules- we always made it a point to set up weekly meetings so everyone can keep on track. However with everyone being under different majors sometimes it was quite difficult to get everyone together, especially when it came to around hand-in time for our other papers. Otherwise I would happily say on behalf of the whole group that working together as a group has been an enlightening experience, and consider myself lucky to be put in a group of people whose ideas and personalities combined well to produce and execute a product that we are all proud of.
