Reflection Document - Michelle Francombe

Group Functioning: what worked and what didn’t? Think both about the process in the lead-up to the FUSE and the day itself

We all believe our group worked really well as a team for this assignment. In the lead-up to the Market Place event our group mostly communicated through a facebook page between our classes to make sure everything was running smoothly. Instead of people being expected to do work we designated tasks for each of us to complete by a certain date which worked really well in keeping everyone happy with everyones efforts and also busy! Due to sicknesses and other reasons for missing classes the facebook page meant we were able to catch up on what we had missed and discuss the next steps. The Fuse day itself went really well, we had established a clear idea of what we wanted our stall to look like and how we were going to execute that so when we went to the Great Hall the night preceding the event we were able to set everything up rather smoothly. Each of us had brought in our own candle holders that we had create along with other items to create our aesthetic, including a calico banner with our brand name painted on, the tags to be attached to all of our candles, crates to display our candles in, plain calico to decorate the stall and create a rustic feel, fairy lights to enhance the light and a vintage style cloth to go over our table! Then the Market Day itself went really well, we each spent some time behind the stall. For the majority of the time it was either Shem and I, or Natalie and Maddie, but the time went really fast, especially the first hour with the rush of people so we all hanged around for a while!
